M M K College

 

The college is officially named after Smt Mithibai Motiram Kundnani and Smt Mithibai Motiram Kundrani College of Commerce & Economics was established in 1961 by the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board.  

Courses offered:  This college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai and registers students for all courses upto the Master of Commerce Degree examination. Foreign trade (vocational subject) is also offered to students to major in. Also, starting last year, is a Bachelor in managements studies - a three-year degree course (Mumbai University) which will be offered to academic students at the FY Bcom level.  

International linkages:  On completion of the B.Com Degree, students from this college are eligible for direct admission in the final year of the Bachelor of Science (BS) in Management at the New Jersey Institute of technology, US. They are eligible for direct admission to the Master of Science in Management course provided they have a good academic record.

  So, it's all work and no play?  No way. George Joseph, SY Bcom has won the Maharashtra State Table Tennis Championship and has also participated in the senior national table tennis tournament. Kunal Bhojwani, SYJC has received awards from the Maharashtra State Tennis Association and has been selected for the Jr National Games. Aashish Agarwal is a national level sprinter, Nandkumar Arjun, national TT player, Khan Sabha, Supriya Pai and Sonali Pathare _ all national level women athletes. 

 How's the crowd like?  In the words of Shreya Das, "The crowd is hip, hep and happening." People from all kinds of homes come here to form one big family. 

 Favourite Hangouts:  The canteen and the campus, but most of the MMKites hang out at McDonalds, Annas, Sindhu's and the popular Jai Sandwich.  

Extra-Curricular Activities:  Every year, the India College fest _ aakarshan is much awaited. Packed with fun and entertainment, this is one fest all the MMKites look forward to. Besides various groups like the literary society, fine arts club, Students Council, Economic Club, there are social groups for causes like support to victims like Jayabala Asher and Kargil soldiers, (human chain, remember?) Indeed, MMKites are always in the forefront for a good cause.
